![]() Bakugo uses this kind of talk too when he calls people as “extras” and refers to himself as the main character. Only the villains in the series so far are actually confronting these cracks in the system because they’re the direct victims of it.Ĭompress tends to use fourth wall breaks and stage talk like this, probably part of being a showman. “There’s a stage where he can shine even brighter” he uses talk referring to the world like it’s a story, or a theatre production. think the solution to fixing the hero system is to just become the best heroes they can be. They’re fanboys of the system who fail to see the flaws.Įven thosewho are negatively affected by the hero system, Todoroki, Shinso, Deku, etc. It’s worth pointing out that in a sense Compress is actually right when he says “All of you kids your values have been chosen for you.” The UA kids are fifteen so it does make sense that they are not thinking of revolutionizing society right now, but almost all of the main characters are supporters of the hero system who never once question or criticize it. Therefore Compress may see the flaws in the hero system like everybody else and want to fight against it. Especially since most league members are made not from born villains, but rather villains who are made from society. This is generally what the league stands for, to disrupt the status quo and show people that they are not as secure as they think they are. If he was a failed enertainer that turned into a villain that specific backstory may be a reference to the Joker. ![]() ![]() This also explains his ability to use sleight of hand in tandem with his quirk. In his introduction in the Camp Raid arc he says he was originally an enertainer before becoming a villain, which is why he has a habit of showing off whenever he makes a move. Even if we don’t know his backstory there’s a lot we can analyze on his character based on his actions so far. However, I would not go so far to say that Compress is just there for the aesthetic. They’re the only ones being left a secret (though that almost fits Compress’ aesthetic since he’s a magician who specializes in sleight of hand that we know the least about him).
